When I came up with the idea for Omega, the latest full length Jack Sigler/Chess Team novel, I knew the events of that book would spawn a new series covering the events hinted at in Omega, but not covered in detail. GUARDIAN is the first book in that series, which I’ve dubbed, The Jack Sigler Continuum series and is co-authored by the very awesome J. Kent Holloway. Kent is not only an excellent writer, but also a hardcore fan of the series, and I think that really comes through in this story.

A lot of readers have been speculating about OMEGA possibly being the final Chess Team book. I can tell you now that it’s not! I’ll be announcing the next book in the series (along with TWO new hardcovers) on Facebook in the coming weeks. So if you’re not a Facebook friend, take care of that now. That said, this book brings all the story-lines that began with PULSE to a close. Your questions will be answered in dramatic fashion and story-arcs will be completed–permanently, forever changing the team and the world. Ouch!

WHERE EVERYTHING BEGINS…
Have you ever wondered how King, Queen, Bishop, Knight and Rook came together as the world’s most bad-ass special ops team? You know they weren’t just picked out of a hat or put together under casual circumstances. Pssh. Please. The Chess Team, despite sounding nerdtastic, were forged in the heat of battle against precarious odds and surrounded by mystery, science, unpredictable circumstances and lots of explosions, flying bullets and dropping bodies. While you haven’t read Prime yet, you knew all that already, deep down in your heart. You knew it was messy. And awesome. And violent.

Island 731 is, without a doubt, one of my darker novels, and given the subject matter how could it not be? Japan’s R&D department, dubbed Unit 731, carried out human experiments on a scale that dwarfed Nazi programs running at the same time. But that’s just the beginning. It’s what became of their evil-inspired research and scientists that is hard to accept.
