The King is back, baby!

Filed under: Novels,Updates — Tags: action, archaeology, Callsign, chess team, jack sigler, King, myth, new release, novella, thriller — Jeremy Robinson @ 10:02 am

CALLSIGN: KING – Book 2 – UNDERWORLD has arrived ahead of schedule! I could have waited for all the Callsign Book 1s to finish out before releasing this one, but the story could not be contained. For real. It has nothing to do with Christmas being on the way. Okay, fine. Maybe a little. But the story IS awesome. Not only is Sean Ellis once again the (superb) co-author, but we’ve brought back King’s close friend, and archaeologist, George Pierce for this story, and the pair, who are deadly and brilliant when together, find themselves once again knee deep in shhhhenanigans. Check out the story description below and then hop on over to Amazon or B&N and pick it up! *Apple and print coming soon.

DESCRIPTION:

Strange things have always happened in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona… Bizarre lights, reports of cave entrances that appear and then vanish, hundreds of mysterious disappearances…and rumors of monstrous creatures that inhabit a labyrinthine underworld.

When a terrifying accident on an Arizona highway leads to a military exclusion zone and a cover-up of staggering proportions, Jack Sigler—Callsign: King, field leader of the elite and ultra-secret covert Chess Team—joined by his closest friend, archaeologist George Pierce, sets out into the desert, intent on discovering the truth.

Assisted by a beautiful paranormal investigator, dogged by soldiers intent on preserving the quarantine, and pursued by a relentless legendary hitman, King soon finds himself in a race against time to prevent all out war with the creatures that inhabit the underworld.

  1. Just got the second King book. I’ve really enjoyed the whole Chess Team series. You keep writing them and I’ll keep reading them.

  3. Thank goodness you put thus one out early. I was going through withdrawal.

  4. Will this be released in print? I’ve read all of the Chess Team books and the four callsign novellas in paperback. I don’t have an e-reader so I’m really hoping you continue with these in paper back.

  5. Absolutely. I’m just waiting to get a proof copy from the printer. Once I do, I’ll approve it and it will appear online – 2 weeks later. Should be available inside of two weeks. Thanks for checking!

  7. Loved the 2nd King book. You and Sean Ellis do a great job together… I enjoy both your books.. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the Chess Team novellas AND The Last Hunter… I am (and so is my daughter) anxiously awaiting that to appear in the Kindle store! She keeps asking me if it’s out (like I would keep it from her… well Ok, I might just for a bit) :)
    Keep up the great work!!

  8. Thank you, Jen! And I’m guessing that Hunter 3 will be out by next Friday. If everything goes right.

  9. Woohoo! Here’s hoping all goes well! :) I’ll watch for it and even if it’s after Friday, we shall survive… :)

  10. Any new update on the last hunter? Just trying to plan out my new book read and if it’s going to be delayed I’ll start something else on Thursday. Thx

    Comment by Tom — November 15, 2011 @ 2:56 pm

  11. Hey Tom,

I don’t think it will be out by Thursday, but it will be soon. I promise. So maybe start something else and plan on hitting Hunter when you’re done. :) Thanks for checking!

  12. I just started reading your books this year. I very much enjoy the Chess Team adventures. While waiting for the next Chess Team novel or novella, I started to read ‘The Pharos Objective’ by David Sakmyster. When I opened the book, I was surprised to see the Cover Design was by Jeremy Robinson and the Interior Design by Stanley Tremblay. Coincidence? Is David Sakmyster another pen name or alias for you? I can’t think of another answer. By the way, I am enjoying reading ‘The Pharos Objective’ very much.

  13. Heh, nope, Dave is a real guy. Unless I’m actually schizophrenic and had fajitas at Thrillerfest by myself. :) Stan is also a real person. He’s a close friend of mine, who I based Rook on, and he works in the business, formatting books. Thanks for reading! And I’m sure Dave would love to hear you’re enjoying his book, too. — Jeremy

  14. Does that mean there is another Jeremey Robinson out there who designs book covers or was that you? Also, when can we expect the next full length Chess Team novel to be out and what will it be called?

    Comment by Mike Kerastas — November 16, 2011 @ 5:00 pm

  15. Nope. Just one of me. I did the cover for Pharos. And for many other books (Quest by David Wood, 33 A.D. by David McAfee, not to mention most of mine). I was an illustrator before I was a writer, so I enjoy doing covers, too.

The next Chess Team novel (full length) is titled RAGNAROK is should be out late next summer. It’s a little later in the year than usual, which is why I’m doing the novellas. They bridge the gap. Thanks for reading!

  16. Great books/novellas, just read King 2 Underworld and cant wait for the others. Great for Kindle/Amazon but why are your books not marketed in the UK, if it wasnt for Amazon i wouldnt have found out about Chess Team! Saying that, i’m working in Dubai now and there’s only one decent bookstore here! Right off to read Bishop :)

    Comment by Francis Donohoe — November 19, 2011 @ 10:39 am

  17. Hi Francis,

The books aren’t actively marketed in the UK because–and this irks me–I don’t yet have a publishing deal in the UK!!! The books are on Amazon, but that’s because it’s Amazon. The books won’t be widely avaialble there until a publisher finally offers to publish them. Sigh. Thanks for reading though. Glad you’re finding the books despite UK publishers poor taste. :)

  18. Jeremy,
I hate to sound greedy, because you are one of the most prolific writers I’ve encountered, but any updates on the release dates of KNIGHT and DEEP BLUE? Also, once DB gets published, is that it for the CALLSIGN novellas? Are there any definitive plans for future volumes, e.g. QUEEN 2, ROOK 2, etc.?
    Thanks for your time!

    Comment by Shannon — November 30, 2011 @ 1:12 pm

  19. Hi Shannon,

Just answered this in another comment so I’m going to pilfer my text. Deep Blue will be out, maybe in two weeks. That’s a guess. Could be sooner. Knight should be available tomorrow!

There is, for certain, going to be a Callsign: King – Book 3 that wraps up the Brainstorm story line that began in books 1 and 2. As for the other characters, I’m waiting to see how they do long term. Despite having co-authors, publishing as many books as I have this year has burned me out a bit. I also couldn’t do second books for Rook and Queen because their stories lead directly into the 4th full length novel, which I hope to release next summer. So, book 2s or not, there will be more Chess Team. :)
