The Last Hunter

Filed under: Novels,Updates — Tags: antarktos, e-book, kindle, last hunter, new, nook, novel, smashwords — Jeremy Robinson @ 3:57 pm

Available in all e-book formats!

The Last Hunter is, in my opinion, one of the best books I’ve ever written. It has my standard mix of action, horror, creatures, myth and speculation, but it also has a very unique first person perspective that really gets your head into the story. It is available for the Kindle at Amazon, the Nook at BN and all other e-book formats at Smashwords.com. Give it a read and be sure to post a review! Every one helps!

For those of you that are fans of ANTARKTOS RISING, this book is a prequel of Antarktos and is a six book series, that will eventually finish both books. So check it out and help keep the world of Antarktos alive!

Story Description:

I’ve been told that the entire continent of Antarctica groaned at the moment of my birth. The howl tore across glaciers, over mountains and deep into the ice. Everyone says so. Except for my father; all he heard was Mother’s sobs. Not of pain, but of joy, so he says. Other than that, the only verifiable fact about the day I was born is that an iceberg the size of Los Angeles broke free from the ice shelf a few miles off the coast. Again, some would have me believe the fracture took place as I entered the world. But all that really matters, according to my parents, is that I, Solomon Ull Vincent, the first child born on Antarctica-the first and only Antarctican-was born on September 2nd, 1974.

If only someone could have warned me that, upon my return to the continent of my birth thirteen years later, I would be kidnapped, subjected to tortures beyond comprehension and forced to fight…and kill. If only someone had hinted that I’d wind up struggling to survive in a subterranean world full of ancient warriors, strange creatures and supernatural powers.

Had I been warned I might have lived a normal life. The human race might have remained safe. And the fate of the world might not rest on my shoulders. Had I been warned….

This is my story-the tale of Solomon Ull Vincent-The Last Hunter.

  1. Hi there from Germany. Read the D. Contingency three years ago. Absolutely fascinating connection between fiction and bible. Lost track you, the author, in the past years. NOW as an owner of a nook, I realised there’s a lot more of you. Can’t wait to get my hands on these ebooks.
Loved the Contingency and hope for equal reading pleasures!!!
So as you see – you works go all around the planet.

  2. Hi Sebastian! Thrilled you found me again and I hope you enjoy all the new books. FYI, PULSE is available in Germany as MISSION HYDRA. INSTINCT will be coming out as OPERATION GENESIS on March 11 (I think). Thanks for reading, and for writing!

  3. I didn’t even read the summary before I hit “buy” on my kindle. Loved Antarktos Rising and just finished both Chess Team books. Been googling like crazy to find the pen names I saw mentioned somewhere her. Please? I’m on a limited income and at this point really need to buy only books from my favorite authors…unless they’re free on the Kindle (hint, hint?).

Glad I found your books! I’m really into this genre lately…Rollins, the Event Series (which I adore, have you read those?, etc, etc.

  4. Cool! If you want the pen name, drop me a line at info@jeremyrobinsononline.com and I’ll give it to you. But you have to promise to keep it a secret, especially if you post a review on Amazon…which would be awesome. :)

And yeah, I’ve read the first two books in the Event series (same publisher and editor as me), but haven’t got to the newer ones yet. So many books, so little time.

  5. Instinct was awesome! Thanks for sharig another great adventure of the Chess Team with your readers. This group of heroes is my top favorites besides Rollin’s Sigma Force. Hope you will keep writing their adventures for many more years.

  6. I just finished The Last Hunter…and I loved it! I have read all of James Rollins books and was searching a new author to read and found you. But I admit I am confused…The Last Hunter is Book 1, but is a prequal to Antarktos Rising? So it was good I read this first? I have also purchased The Antarktos Rising on kindle so will begin that today, but when will the next book come out? And will it be Book 2? So many questions I know…but I want to make sure I don’t miss anything and that I read things in the proper order! Thanks so much and I hope your holiday was outstanding!!

  7. Glad to hear you enjoyed THE LAST HUNTER! Okay, here’s how it works. ANTARKTOS RISING was released about four years ago. But I never felt like I got a chance to fully explore that world I created. And when I decided to do a YA story I went back to the ANTARKTOS world, but twenty something years earlier. THE LAST HUNTER series will be six books total. ANTARKTOS is NOT one of those six books. In the Hunter series, books 1 – 3 will take place before Antarktos Rising. Book 4 will parallel Antarktos Rising (so the events are happening at the same time with some SLIGHT overlap that the characters in Antarktos aren’t aware of). And the last two books in the Hunter series will finish BOTH storylines as they converge. Confused yet?

Thanks for reading! If you have the time and desire pop on over to Amazon and post a review! Every one helps. :)

  8. Hey there – still loving the books as much as ever. Just got the The Last Hunter and am upset simple because I am going to have to wait for the rest! I’ll be anxiously standing by for the next 6 books. Thanks and keep em coming!

  9. Hey Judson,

The good news is that the wait won’t be as long as my other books, which don’t see print until 14 – 16 months after I’m done writing them. Book 2 will be written this spring and released in the summer!

  11. Wow. Just finished the Last Hunter. LOVED IT. Got a bit confused in the beginning, had to go to Anarktos Rising briefly as the names were familiar… :) - Go figure.
I am anxiously awaiting the next Hunter book. Any idea of when?

My daughter is 12, nearly 13 and a voracious reader like me. She reads well above a 7th grade level so I try to suggest books I’ve read she may enjoy and that the content is ok. Violence is in their video games so I’m ok with that (and dad was military so really… no biggie) She now LOVES Anarktos Rising and downloaded Hunter to her Kindle this morning before school! We LOVE reading and I am really trying to figure out those pen names! Keep them books coming!

  12. ? I see a blog up higher where someone mentioned “Event Series”. I can’t seem to find the info… someone tell me more? It seems alot of people here read Rollins, Jeremy Robinson, etc. so it’s the same for me!! I need more books! Writers can’t seem to keep up with my reading!

  13. Hi Jennifer,

So glad that you and your daughter are enjoying the books. The next Hunter book should be out this summer. No specific date yet, but if you sign up for the newsletter, you’ll be one of the first to know. :) And thanks–I think–for posting the review on Amazon. That was you, right? Appreciate it!

  14. The Event series is by David Lynn Golemon. The first book is Event, then Legend, then Ancients and Leviathan. I think that’s right. Oh, and the new on is Primeval. — Jeremy

  17. Sweet! Glad you enjoyed it. The second book is simply titled: THE LAST HUNTER – PURSUIT. Each of the books will share the title, but will have different subtitles. Right now, it’ looks like PURSUIT will be out in June!

  19. I totally forgot I had posted here…didn’t mean to blow your cover on the pen name, as it looks like you answered my question in another post on another blog entry. But, I would imagine that only your die-hard fans read all the comments on posts, so I would think it would be safe :) I have read everything you have written except for the latest Chess Team (full size) novel, and the recent novella. I will post reviews fairly soon – my book budget must be cut, so I plan on rereading all my favorites…I just love this genre and can’t get back into any of the other genres I used to read. I read so fast and tend to skim, that a reread of a favorite is always a pleasure. Glad to pass on the Event Series by David L Golemon (my spelling may be off). Amazon recommended it to me after buying Jeremy Robinson and James Rollins books and I just love it. The newest novel was just released a few days ago (Legacy)

  20. Hey Sarah,

On the main page of my website there is a link on the left side, near the top, for my Thrillevangelist program. If you have an e-reader and do a few simple tasks you can can any (or all of them if you really set you mind to it) for free! And I always answer questions. ;)

  21. Just finished book 3 (The Last Hunter – Ascent) of the Antarktos series having read Antarktos Rising and the Last Hubnter – Puruit. All three books in a matter of less than 7 days. Absolutely gripping and very hrard to put down. As you intimate, the books do raise some issues that perhaps my dogma’d brain had become used to.

Anyway, when is the next book, presumably book 4 due out or is already out??? I need an urgent fix of the read. How long must I await the next book please???

Great writing – have not been able to put my kindle down since I started Antarktos Rising – perhaps I should try sleeping but as an ageing insomniac, sleep is a rare commodity.

    please let me know.

Any chance of films in the offing.???

    Comment by Tony F — February 9, 2012 @ 6:07 pm

  22. Awesome. Glad to hear you’re enjoying the series, Tony! The fourth book in the series comes out in June. So not too long. The fifth and final book will be out in November…a bit longer, but far faster than the average novel series.

As for a film. Such a thing would be a dream come true for me, but thus far, nada. The odds are severely against it. But someday. I’m sure it will happen. :)
