THRESHOLD Sneak Peak!

Filed under: Novels,Updates — Tags: cover, novel, threshold, thriller — Jeremy Robinson @ 11:54 am

Awwww yeah, the third book in the Jack Sigler (previously Chess Team) series is coming out very nice and I’m ready to give you a sneak peak! Below you will find the very first cover mock-up. While this is an unfinished cover image you can already see that it’s going to be the best cover of the series. The final cover will have more color, be brighter and have a different/cooler text treatment.

Threshold Mock Cover

And now, for those of you who have been waiting for some hint of what the book will be about, here’s the current  book description (may change on the printed book). Remember, this book picks up where INSTINCT left off.

After an apparent terrorist attack on the Siletz Reservation in Oregon leaves more than three thousand Americans dead, Jack Sigler, call sign King and his Chess Team—Queen, Rook, Bishop and Knight—are tasked with protecting the only survivor, Fiona Lane, a thirteen year old girl. While King is away, mourning the death of his mother, and the rest of the team chases down leads, Fort Bragg is attacked by a strange and overwhelming enemy. When the dust settles, Fiona is gone.

But the attack on Fort Bragg was part of a larger offensive. All around the world, the last speakers of ancient languages are being systematically exterminated. The team takes action to protect potential targets in exotic locations around the world while King launches a furious search for Fiona that takes him to the Roman Forum, Stonehenge, Israel and Babylon.

Along the way, the team is hunted and attacked by strange creatures that defy explanation—living statues, genetically modified monsters and walking megaliths—sent by an enemy from their past.  Using ruthless methods, their enemy has unlocked the secrets of the pre-Babel mother tongue: the breath of life. If not stopped, he will be able to remake himself, and the world.

Calling on help from old friends and ancient heroes, the team fights their most desperate battle yet, not just to save the world as we know it, but to rescue a little girl who wants nothing more than to call King: Dad.

  5. Glad you guys are excited. It’s shaping up to be one crazy read! :)

  6. This plot actually sounds better than the first two, and I thought Pulse’s plot sounded downright awesome. Where do you come up with this stuff? Amazing.

    Comment by Randy — August 1, 2010 @ 10:47 pm

  7. Thanks Randy. A huge portion of my job is actually day dreaming. Combine that with lots of research into subjects that interest me and ideas are born.

    Comment by Jeremy Robinson — August 2, 2010 @ 10:51 am

  8. Can’t wait! I stumbled onto Pulse, gobbled it up and read instinct. I’m onto some of the others you’ve written, but love the Chess Team! :) - and I’m a picky reader!

    Comment by Jennifer — August 3, 2010 @ 5:44 pm

  9. Thanks Jennifer! Yeah, the Chess Team books (now called Jack Sigler Thrillers) are my best. That’s what happens when you have a good editor!

  10. you sir have become my favorite author! your first two chess team books had me at the edge of seat the whole time! cannot wait for number three!

    Comment by andrew — August 9, 2010 @ 7:31 pm

  11. Thanks Andrew. Thrilled to hear it, and hope to provide many more edge-of-your-seat novels in the future!

  12. I have absolutely fallen in love with your books! The Chess Team books are phenomenal, and I can’t wait for the next one! You have become one of my “must-read” authors- keep the awesome books coming!

    Comment by Megan — August 12, 2010 @ 10:56 pm

  13. Thank you, Megan!

    Comment by Jeremy Robinson — August 13, 2010 @ 9:38 am

  14. That’s an awesome cover. It creates an ominous travail for King and company. Like other readers, Mr. Robinson you have become one of my favorite/go-to authors. The others being Brian Keene, J.L. Bourne, Jonathan Maberry, and Mark Greaney. Pulse was great, I still need to get Instinct. I’m torn on whether to get it for the kindle or mass paperback, because I purchased Pulse in mass paperback. That new Kindle Wifi is really tempting. Will there be more Chess Team stories after Threshold? Specifically in 2012? Since a Chess Team adventure has been released in each year since 2009.

  15. I am blown away by plots that combine mysteries of the unknown or historical/religious legend with high-action suspense. i started with Pulse and intend to read all Robinson’s books. I feel like I have discovered a real “King” of the good read.

    Comment by David C — August 21, 2010 @ 8:06 am

  16. You flatter me, David! You’ll find PULSE and INSTINCT are the best of the bunch. After them, my favorite is ANTARKTOS RISING. But I’ve got more books coming out soon and THRESHOLD, the next book after PULSE and INSTINCT arrives in March 2011!

  18. Glad you like it. Hoping the final is even better!

    Comment by Jeremy Robinson — August 26, 2010 @ 11:20 pm

  19. I had read through all of the Rollins and Reillys and was looking for another series and was so glad to check back to see that you had started one. I think I finished Pulse & Instinct in 2 days and love them as much as I love The Didymus Contingency! I’m so excited about Threshold it looks aweosme!!

    Comment by Keiva P. — August 27, 2010 @ 4:21 pm

  20. Yeah, we still have a while before THRESHOLD comes out, though. That said, I will have some e-books out before then, BUT they will be under pen names. To keep track of them be sure to sign up for the newsletter or watch the blog. I’ll be recommending them without mentioning I’m the author. :)

    Comment by Jeremy Robinson — August 29, 2010 @ 9:37 pm

  21. Do you have a release date for Threshold

    Comment by suzanne — September 12, 2010 @ 8:49 pm

  22. I Meant do you have a release date for the US market and one for the UK market. So excited for Threshold, Andy Mcdermott books I can buy in UK months before I can get in US. Thanks love all your books. And want to get it as soon as available anywhere

    Comment by suzanne — September 12, 2010 @ 8:59 pm

  23. THRESHOLD comes out on March 29 in the U.S. But none of the books have been released in the UK. If it happens, it will be years before THRESHOLD comes out there. Best way to get in UK is via Amazon.co.uk, here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Threshold-Jack-Sigler-Adventure-Thriller/dp/0312540302 BUT, that won’t be any faster than you can get them here. :(

    Comment by Jeremy Robinson — September 12, 2010 @ 11:49 pm

  24. Move over James Rollins and Matthew Reilly! You are fast replacing my favorite authors. Can’t wait for your next Chess Team book. Hurry up and get it to the printers, your loyal fans are waiting.

    Comment by Terri — September 15, 2010 @ 7:59 pm

  25. Thanks Terri. Believe it or not, I actually write about three books a year, but right now only one of them is published per year. Do get the books faster we have to increase sales/demand. That said, I’m working on other way to get more books out, including using pen names for some and putting out others as e-book exclusives that get released about 18 months faster than the print books. If things work out the way I’m hoping, there should be three novels out in the next 6 months in various formats.

  26. can’t wait i hope it comes to audiobook but if available as a ebook i can live with that. thanks for bringing books back into my life!!

    Comment by Sam — October 25, 2010 @ 4:30 pm

  27. You’re VERY welcome Sam. I don’t know if Threshold will be released as an audiobook or not. That probably depends on how PULSE and INSTINCT do, and right now I have no idea how they’re selling. But it will definitely be released as an e-book. Thanks for reading!

    Comment by Jeremy Robinson — October 26, 2010 @ 8:16 am

  28. hurry up and write! you are now on the top of my short list of must reads!

    Comment by catherine — December 14, 2010 @ 9:12 pm

  29. Heh. I actually write 3 – 4 books a year, but only one sees print. That’s the system. BUT, I am releasing as many as I can in e-book format with the hopes they’ll one day see print. :)

    Comment by Jeremy Robinson — December 17, 2010 @ 10:48 pm

  30. Instinct was superb and the Chess Team has become my top-notch favorite heroes (move over Sigma Force)! Though Jack is my dream hero, I like the fact that each of the characters from Jack right down to Bishop has a chance to role play in their adventures. Great work Mr Robinson and keep their adventures coming!! (By the way, just completed The Genesis Plague by Michael Byrnes and found it to be another great book). Wishing you in advance a Happy and Promising New Year.

    Comment by Serene — December 29, 2010 @ 10:05 am

  31. Thank you!! It can be a trick to make sure everyone on the team gets a fair shake, but I like them all so much it’s fun to do. Thrilled you’re enjoying the series.

  36. Just finished Instinct and loved it! More please! You’re in the trifecta of my favorite thriller writers along with Rollins and Golemon. Keep ‘em coming!

    Comment by Jen — February 9, 2011 @ 11:28 pm

  37. Thanks, Jen! THRESHOLD will be out in March, so the wait won’t be long. And that’s one trifecta and am thrilled to be a part of!
