WHAT I LIKE TO READ:
I'm often asked what books/authors I would recommend
from readers who have read all of my books and are looking for more good
reads. If you're one of those folks and are looking for a good read, I
have provided my top 40 picks for novels by some of my favorite
authors. Enjoy.
Ok, I'm doing no such thing...but that is a great movie. If you don't know the movie, make it your personal quest to find out what it is and watch it!
On to the news...and it's good. POD People has been released! How? I haven't hinted at this, but now I'm announcing. POD People has been published by a new POD publisher called Breakneck Books. It's their first book! They're a traditional publisher in that publishing through them is free (you don't have to pay them like you do most PODs--and they reject the majority of books submitted to them), they pay a royalty, design your cover, send the book out for reviews, and all the other nice things publishers do. The ONLY difference between them and a traditional publisher is that they don't do massive print runs. They simply make the books available as demand continues. Makes sense to me...and its no wonder several traditional publishers are jumping on the POD band wagon for their older titles. Before you rush to Amazon or Barnes&Noble.com...the book isn't there yet...well not today anyway. It should be available on Amazon by Friday and B&N.com next week. After that, all the other online booksellers should fall in line. Hooray!
Also, for those of you who have heard of her--POD-dy Girl from the POD-dy Mouth review blog has read and reviewed POD People (and provided a blurb for the cover). She will be plugging the book on the site once the book is available. It should provide a nice start to the book's sales as POD-dy Mouth is one of the few authorities on POD books and is frequented most often by my very audience, POD authors!
Breakneck Books will also be publishing my second novel as it fits right into their genre, action/adventure novels. The cover looks wonderful and another blurb from James Rollins graces the cover (and back cover). I think this is a very good (though extremely different) follow-up to The Didymus Contingency. It is not a Christian novel (I stager my books from Christian themed to not). It is more along the lines of Rollins/Chrichton/Preston...with tad more scienc fiction. Check it out at www.breakneckbooks.com (along with POD People). The current estimate for a release is September 2006.
From the Deep continues to move slowly, but that's not a surprise as we are still, in essense, homeless. We're still with family, but are hopeful about a new place we looked at a few days ago. If that works out we should be moved in by July 4th...we might just sleep through the fireworks!
Did I mention we're having a boy? It's ben so long between posts lately that I can't remember. At any rate...we are. His name will be Solomon. We still need a middle name. Debating going with mine...but it made for a few rough years in school...yup, it's that bad. Feel free to guess. It starts with P. It's not a normal name (like Peter). It's a place in Scotland. And it appears quite often on boxers an ties. If you figure it out, try not to tease me too much!

INTERVIEWS
Here are some links to
interviews I've done, past and present--newest on top.
I'm a huge fan of the genre I write,
and read books by the following authors like they were my Grandma
Vincent's homemade chocolate bon-bons on Christmas Eve. If
you're a fan of any of these authors, you'll feel right at home
within the pages of my books.
jamesrollins.com - My favorite
author, and my biggest supporter, James Rollins, bestselling author
of BLACK ORDER and THE JUDAS STRAIN can do no wrong in my book. I've
been a fan since reading SUBTERRANEAN maybe seven years ago.
prestonchild.com - Douglas
Preston and Lincoln Child are the fantastic writing duo that brought
us THE RELIC, DEEP STORM and BOOK OF THE DEAD. Whether they're
writing together or solo, these guys don't miss.
matthewreilly.com - Matthew Reilly's novels are basically
action-adventure/thrillers on speed. I love his creative and his
non-stop pace. His first novel, CONTEST is not only my favorite
of his, but it was also originally self-published...no wonder I
like him!
stevealten.com - Steve Alten thinks big...big creatures
that is. I discovered his books about two years ago and read one
after the other until I ran out, finishing with THE LOCH, which
I have to admit was a major inspiration (along with his MEG
series) for the novel I just finished writing. I am now proud to
say that I am publishing the next book in the MEG series, HELL'S
AQUARIUM through my publishing company, Variance.
crichton-official.com - Not including
his two most recent book, Michael Crichton is the master of science
based thrillers. JURASSIC PARK, THE LOST WORLD, TIMELINE, SPHERE and
PREY all rank among my favorite novels.
scottsigler.com Scott is not only a cool guy, but he
also writes awesome novels. Ancestor, which I blurbed, is one of
my favorite new novels. Look for his future books, INFESTED and
NOCTURNAL from Crown Books.
jackdubrulbooks.com - When you're looking for action
adventure novels, Jack DuBrul's character, Phillip Mercer, can't
be beat. And now that DuBrul is teaming up with the granddaddy
of the genre, Clive Cussler, we'll be seeing a lot more from
him.
stelpavlou.com - Not only is Stel a stand up Brit and a
really nice guy, but he's also written one of the finest books
of the last 10 years. DECIPHER is an amazing and smart thriller.
