Check out the new, improved and cheaper ($7.99) mass market edition of
Antarktos Rising. It came out AMAZING!
WHAT I LIKE TO READ:
I'm often asked what books/authors I would recommend
from readers who have read all of my books and are looking for more good
reads. If you're one of those folks and are looking for a good read, I
have provided my top 40 picks for novels by some of my favorite
authors. Enjoy.
So what could keep a dedicated blogger like me from updating my blog for several weeks? Oh, nothing much. Just trying to buy a house (getting pre-approved, house searching, making an offer, having that offer rejected) and then deciding not to buy a house at all... AND I'm starting a new job. Actually I'm creating a new job. I'm the new multimedia director for Thinking Machine (yes, my brother's computer store) but now we're doing classes, book creation and marketing and video editing. So I've been advertising, interviewing teachers, writing press releases, designing classes, evaluating texts, etc. But wait, there's more! We're (my wife and I) are still working full time taking care of a man with disabilities who lives in our home. This is 24/7 care folks! Then there is the ever active toddler and a pregnant wife to boot! Plus we all got sick.
So finding time (and actually remembering to) update this blog is just as impossible as it is to sit down and write. Which seems to be an on going theme in my blog. I shold have started this thing when I was pumping out 15 pages a day and you would have thought, "Ohh, he's so prolific." Now you're just thinking, "Quit your whining, Robinson!"
So I will. I do have writing related news after all. My new book POD People - Beating the Print-On-Demand Stigma, is available on a limited basis from Lulu.com. I have not, however, released it globally yet so I can attempt to get pre-release reviews...one of which I have already recieved! Here's the blurb from POD-DY MOUTH (one of few authorities on POD books):
"Robinson has penned the essential guide to self-publishing success in today's market. If you're looking for a way to traverse the challenging world of print-on-demand, consider this book a Hummer with a full tank of gas." - POD-DY MOUTH
Not too shabby, eh? Repeat readers may also remember that POD-DY MOUTH also nominated The Didymus Contingency for their Needle Award. Alas, I did not win, but to be nominated out of 1400 books was really a treat. I can say that out of the ten books nominated, I am, hands down, the best seller of the bunch. That and the fact that I already have an agent (the two winners have just signed with agents) makes me feel a tad better. **Secretly wringing hands together and laughing evily.**
I've managed to plot some more of the From The Deep so it will still be fresh in my mind when I can sit down and actually work on it again. I would guess once we're done with our current live-in position (17 days!) that life should slow down and I'll have time to write. Of course, 30 days after that our lease is up and we'll have to move...so who knows.
So now that you're up to speed I need to go finish class sign up sheets, merge a mass of teacher pieces into an empty class schedule and create a marketing campiegn that will bring the computer illiterate to our doors to be trained.

INTERVIEWS
Here are some links to
interviews I've done, past and present--newest on top.
I'm a huge fan of the genre I write,
and read books by the following authors like they were my Grandma
Vincent's homemade chocolate bon-bons on Christmas Eve. If
you're a fan of any of these authors, you'll feel right at home
within the pages of my books.
jamesrollins.com - My favorite
author, and my biggest supporter, James Rollins, bestselling author
of BLACK ORDER and THE JUDAS STRAIN can do no wrong in my book. I've
been a fan since reading SUBTERRANEAN maybe seven years ago.
prestonchild.com - Douglas
Preston and Lincoln Child are the fantastic writing duo that brought
us THE RELIC, DEEP STORM and BOOK OF THE DEAD. Whether they're
writing together or solo, these guys don't miss.
matthewreilly.com - Matthew Reilly's novels are basically
action-adventure/thrillers on speed. I love his creative and his
non-stop pace. His first novel, CONTEST is not only my favorite
of his, but it was also originally self-published...no wonder I
like him!
stevealten.com - Steve Alten thinks big...big creatures
that is. I discovered his books about two years ago and read one
after the other until I ran out, finishing with THE LOCH, which
I have to admit was a major inspiration (along with his MEG
series) for the novel I just finished writing. I am now proud to
say that I am publishing the next book in the MEG series, HELL'S
AQUARIUM through my publishing company, Variance.
crichton-official.com - Not including
his two most recent book, Michael Crichton is the master of science
based thrillers. JURASSIC PARK, THE LOST WORLD, TIMELINE, SPHERE and
PREY all rank among my favorite novels.
scottsigler.com Scott is not only a cool guy, but he
also writes awesome novels. Ancestor, which I blurbed, is one of
my favorite new novels. Look for his future books, INFESTED and
NOCTURNAL from Crown Books.
jackdubrulbooks.com - When you're looking for action
adventure novels, Jack DuBrul's character, Phillip Mercer, can't
be beat. And now that DuBrul is teaming up with the granddaddy
of the genre, Clive Cussler, we'll be seeing a lot more from
him.
stelpavlou.com - Not only is Stel a stand up Brit and a
really nice guy, but he's also written one of the finest books
of the last 10 years. DECIPHER is an amazing and smart thriller.
