I'm often asked what books/authors I would recommend
from readers who have read all of my books and are looking for more good
reads. If you're one of those folks and are looking for a good read, I
have provided my top 40 picks for novels by some of my favorite
authors. Enjoy.
That’s right, the third book in the Brainstorm Trilogy (Callsign: King, Callsign: King – Underworld and Callsign: King – Blackout) is now out and available in e-book and print formats. If you haven’t started this novella triple threat yet, visit the Chesspocalypse page for links to buy all three. OR, give me another month or two and I’ll have the collection released as a single omnibus. All together, the Brainstorm Trilogy is nearly 140,000 words long—the length of a very long novel. At $2.99 a pop (for the e-book), you’re getting a brand new, super-sized Jack Sigler thriller for under $10 (they’re normally $12.99 — Threshold was $15). For a fair comparison, the print books are $9.99 each for a total of $30, just $2 more than the Threshold cover price, but 30,000 words longer. Here’s the story summary:
Last year I published something like 17 books. I honestly can’t remember the exact number off the top of my head. I think part of my brain is trying to forget the mad rush that was 2011. Out of those books, five were backlist (already written), seven were co-authored (I didn’t do all the work). But five of them were written in 2011. The average author writes one, maybe two novels in a year. When readers and other authors hear that I write more than double that amount, the next thing out of their mouth is, “How do you write so many books?”
Between my hardcovers released by Thomas Dunne, the continuing Antarktos Saga, the Jeremy Bishop books and the ever expanding Jack Sigler/Chess Team series, I have promised fans and readers a large number of books to be released on a yearly basis. 2012 is no exception as I prepare to release CALLSIGN: KING – BLACKOUT, SECONDWORLD, THE LAST HUNTER – LAMENT, THE RAVEN, RAGNAROK and THE LAST HUNTER – ONSLAUGHT, in that order.
Authors are paranoid about being ripped off. Our ideas are gold, and while we can’t bury them in the back yard, we still do everything we can to protect our babies. We hire agents to check contracts. We obsess about copyrights. We register works with the Writer’s Guild. We mail our manuscripts to ourselves on the odd chance that Stephen King will discover our obscure opus and lift entire passages from it. We hang out at the water cooler to swap equal parts advice and publishing horror stories. We even report to and use sites like Predators and Editors to make sure we’re not signing with a scummy publisher. Because that’s what we fear most, even more than Stephen King ripping us off.
Just wanted to share the trailer for SecondWorld, my upcoming hardcover novel from Thomas Dunne Books. This is by far my best trailer yet. Hope you enjoy it, too. And if you want to pre-order the book, you can get it on Amazon. Or get it at Barnes & Noble.
